This result was obtained by analysts from J'son & Partners Consulting based on the results of a regular study of the Russian office software market for 2023. At the same time, the analysts included in the study only tools for working with electronic documents.

In 2023, the combined revenue of MyOffice and two other Russian office software manufacturers amounted to RUB 5.4 billion. At the same time, the J'son & Partners Consulting report shows that Russian organizations' expenses on such software exceeded RUB 64 billion, and this only applies to document editors - email, instant messengers, antiviruses and other software are not included in these figures. Moreover, analysts report that RUB 26.4 billion was spent in the public sector alone, which does not reflect the real state of affairs on the market. According to our data, during Microsoft's presence in Russia, the total revenue of the American corporation from the sale of all its products on the domestic market did not exceed RUB 29 billion (in 2021) and has been declining over the past two years due to the cessation of official sales of licenses for corporate clients. And due to obvious reasons, such as the implementation of the import substitution program and the introduction of regulatory bans on the purchase of foreign software in the public sector, it is simply not possible to talk about a rapid increase in spending on foreign software."

The share of Russian software in the total market volume in 2023 reached 21% and amounted to 13.5 billion rubles, compared to a 15% share of Russian software in 2022 and 12% in 2021. The share of foreign software in 2023 was 61%, and free software - 18%. Analysts at J'son & Partners Consulting also confirmed the forecast for the growth of the market share of Russian office software in the total commercial market to 80% by 2030, with the remaining part equally divided between foreign and free software. The office software market volume by that time should exceed 100 billion rubles.

According to Dmitry Komissarov, a partner at the Strigo Capital investment fund and founder of New Cloud Technologies LLC, this forecast for market share distribution is quite realistic. In his opinion, the share of foreign software, regardless of its distribution conditions (commercial, free) or open or closed source code, will decrease due to the fact that developers will not promptly implement customer requests and fix errors. A certain exception, as Dmitry Komissarov noted, may only be free projects, where Russian participants play a significant role.

Independent expert in the IT and telecom sector Vadim Plesskiy believes that the penetration level of Russian office software at 80% is achievable, but only in segments that are subject to regulation, in particular, at critical information infrastructure (CII) facilities: "The office software market cannot be considered separately from the market of basic platforms (operating systems) on which this software is executed. In the medium and long term, there will be no "Russian Windows" or "Russian mac OS" - Microsoft and Apple will not open the source codes of operating systems, and creating their clones from scratch is problematic and extremely labor-intensive."
