In this week's post, Erica Fellinger, professor of the Official University Master's Degree in Integrated Logistics and International Trade at Bureau Veritas University Center , talks to us about the cloverleaf model in the framework of the organizational theory of companies.
Within the framework of organizational theory and, in particular, in the new variable geometry structures, the cloverleaf model is appropriate for dynamic, adaptive, flexible and, therefore, more competitive companies . Intelligent organizations prepared for the current environment.
In general, this model refers to organizations that place senior management in the central part of the cloverleaf . The first leaf contains the managers and workers who hold the foundation of the business culture and management style, forming the professional core dedicated to the core activities of the company . The second leaf groups the viber data activities that are not essential to provide value to the organization and, therefore, are outsourced. The third leaf contains the flexible workforce . And the fourth leaf of the cloverleaf is designed for customer autonomy . With the support of new technologies, the customer can carry out activities that allow cost savings in the organization.
The first case of customer autonomy arose in the 1980s with the appearance of ATMs . This autonomy is similar to do-it-yourself in form but naturally not in concept. It is not about the pleasure that the consumer seeks in weekend DIY. It is about transferring the costs of the final phase of the production process to the consumer and also making the customer feel , sometimes, more satisfied . A fourth page that offers the chance to carry out a banking transaction at any time and almost anywhere.
The fourth sheet is buying components with the right size and their accessories to build a shelf, a table or even a solar panel; it is paying at the supermarket without having to go through the checkout with endless lines of people with their shopping baskets full of groceries; it is bringing the fast food menu to the table and also, depositing the leftovers in the corresponding places.
Whether it is goods or services, the fact is that we are surrounded by fourth clover leaves in the fields that the consumer walks through every day .
Well, yes, if you come across this fourth lucky leaf, you might think that this luck is present in companies when they reduce their costs.
However, there is also another kind of autonomy in these fields, not when one walks as a consumer but as a worker . I am referring to what, in this context, I call “worker autonomy . ” Worker autonomy is born when companies hire a workforce with the option of working from home . The advantage of this record of service is that the worker can avoid traffic jams on the roads, manage his time and the conciliation of work, personal and family life better, or be more productive. The advantage for the company is to have workers who feel more at ease and, sometimes, to reduce costs of space, consumables or energy .
