HA couple of months ago, Mark Zuckerberg put Facebook on everyone's lips with his latest announcement, the idea of turning the social network into a metaverse company . This metaverse, which proposes the communion between the digital world and physical reality, is seen as a great milestone in the evolution of the Internet. An ecosystem where we can interact virtually in different aspects of daily life, such as work, education and entertainment, in a democratized and continuous way.
This new reality is the goal that Zuckerberg has set for the future of his company, of the digital world as we know it. Thus, the social network announced a few days ago an investment of 50 million austria business email database dollars , approximately 43.1 million euros, to promote the development of this reality.
Facebook seeks to build the metaverse responsibly
The metaverse in its simplest form refers to platforms where users can interact virtually in a simulated space. This is something we are already used to with multiplayer video games, such as Roblox , Fortnite , or World of Warcraft .
However, Zuckerberg's idea of the metaverse is much broader, as it proposes a platform where the different interactions we carry out on the digital plane can be carried out without having to leave one platform for another. That is, with this new reality, if we are in a video game, we can attend classes, or even go shopping virtually , within the same platform through which we entered the game. In this way, it is presented as a digital space to which anyone can connect and in which they will have the availability to carry out a wide range of activities.
