Konstantin Titkov, Head of the Information Security Center of Gazprombank JSC DZO, called high performance the main criterion for large NGFW customers: it should not become a "bottleneck" of the network. However, in his opinion, small branches need a multifunctional device.
As noted by Igor Balakshev, Head of the Department of Architecture and Information Security Control at PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel, a corporate customer will choose a product with a performance of 10 Gbit/s or more even when it supports only 40% of all the necessary functions, rather than one that has all the singapore whatsapp number database necessary functions but is capable of protecting a 100 Mbit/s channel. As a result, as emphasized by Safron Dandaev, Head of the Infrastructure Security Department at PJSC Promsvyazbank, compromises have to be made.
"The list of requirements for NGFW from major Russian customers is formalized and includes almost four hundred items. This list was compiled from the sum of the functions of all popular foreign solutions with the addition of industry nuances of specific major customers. Solutions that meet all these requirements do not exist in nature," noted Deputy General Director of Garda Group Rustem Khairutdinov.
As noted by Alexander Barinov, director of the network security solutions portfolio at Solar Group, consolidation of the market will inevitably occur, but this process will not begin in the next year or two. In the medium term, according to his estimates, 80% of the market will be controlled by no more than four vendors. As noted by Igor Balakshev, in order for the solution not to die, it must have sources of funding, a stable client base and expertise in the field of content filling (rules, signatures, feeds).
to Russian ones are complicated. According to Igor Lyapunov, this is compounded by the fact that the entire network security segment has always been very conservative due to the long service life of equipment, and growth rates there were measured in a few percent. The further situation, in his opinion, will depend on the position of regulators: if the deadlines set by the 166th and 250th presidential decrees are shifted, then there will be a serious slowdown in the pace of import substitution. If they remain in force, the process will significantly accelerate.
"As a rule, those who still believe that foreign manufacturers will return postpone the transition to domestic solutions. But they are a minority. The majority understands that the stage of foreign information security vendors has passed. And even if they ever return, it is difficult to imagine a situation in which they will be trusted again and their solutions will be implemented," Ivan Chernov is sure.
"Transition from one vendor to another is a whole project that always required additional costs and team efforts: you need to transfer the rules, make sure that everything works, and much more. At the same time, during migration, there is always a difference not in quality, but in the essence of how the product is structured inside. Moreover, it is necessary to replace a huge landscape of Western solutions installed by our clients in a short time, so we were concerned that this transition could be carried out semi-automatically, and in some cases, automatically. We develop utilities for migration from one product to another, because we understand that as a vendor, we are obliged to help our clients quickly make this transition in a short time, without relying only on partners who also do not have time to help everyone. If we were not limited by the timing of import substitution, the situation would not be so critical and would not require a search for new approaches. Is it possible to switch in such conditions not to us, but to competitors? Yes, but here the situation will be more complicated, since there will be gaps where it will not be possible to replace a Western product with a domestic one, even turning a blind eye to the quality of some NGFW. Here it is worth looking at their speed, the ability to supply large hierarchical installations with centralized management and separately - small devices for branches. Clients can partially switch to Russian vendors, but it will not be possible to completely import-substitute the huge infrastructure yet, because there are basic things that still do not work," Denis Korablyov believes.
"It is clear that there will be no seamless transition of the type "turn on the new/turn off the old", so each company chooses for itself a strategy for migrating from foreign to Russian solutions. Some customers accept the risks of using foreign solutions while waiting for an acceptable Russian solution. Others are in a hurry to switch to Russian solutions that are already available, putting up with the insufficient number and quality of functions. The same goes for manufacturers: some, following KPIs from shareholders for the release of new products or playing on the cost of public shares, announce solutions that are not yet ready for delivery. Others urgently sell what they have in order to launch new products with the money raised, including the next generation of NGFW on a new architecture. Still others, focused more on profit than on intangible KPIs, delay the release of solutions in order to get as close as possible to the requirements of specific customers," notes Rustem Khairutdinov.
At the same time, migration projects from foreign NGFW
