USP stands for Unique Selling Proposition, i.e. the one-of-a-kind benefit that a company offers to a customer. It is the main selling point, the reason why a consumer will choose you over your competitors. Customers should definitely be aware of your USP, especially if you are just starting a business.

Why do you need a unique selling proposition?
Differentiation in business drives sales. In a world where people are bombarded with advertising and messages about different brands, you need to stand out to your potential customers so that they will want to choose you . If your company is the same as any other, you can only hope that customers see you first.
You will gain brand recognition. Perhaps the USP is implied. People may know why you are unique, but more often than not, they don’t. So why don’t you just tell them ? If you tell them that you are going to give them a unique selling proposition , then you have already positioned yourself correctly in their minds.
