First Look Media , the media venture of eBay founder Pierre Omidyar , recently launched The Intercept , its first publication, with both short- and long-term goals.

Now FLM has made headlines with the debut of its first digital magazine: The Intercept . Founded and led by journalists Glenn Greenwald , Laura Poitras , and Jeremy Scahill , The Intercept made its debut earlier this week. 



Focus and Projections
As announced on their website, their initial focus will be new reporting involving the revelations made to them by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden , based on primary sources and using all manner of digital formats. They will even have journalists in Washington covering reactions to these revelations and ongoing reform efforts. The editors, who have been involved in this case since its inception, say they have a vital and urgent obligation to this story, its documents, and the public:

Over the past seven months, journalists who have reported on these National Security Agency documents have been repeatedly threatened by a wide range of government officials. At times, the intimidation campaign has gone beyond mere threats. These attempted intimidation tactics have escalated in recent weeks and have clearly become more concerted and coordinated.
