LDoubts about Chinese apps continue to grow globally. The latest to join this trend has been the Indian government, which last June banned 59 apps developed by Chinese companies because they could be “ involved in activities that threaten the national security and defense of India, which ultimately affects the sovereignty and integrity of India,” thus beginning the biggest digital divide between the two most populous nations in the world.

Now, that ban has been made permanent.

59 Chinese apps have been banned in India due to indonesia business email database alleged misuse of user data
The ban has been made permanent after the Indian government announced its “dissatisfaction” with the response offered by the companies involved on aspects related to user privacy, such as the way in which their personal data is collected and processed.n tensions revive in recent months, with customs at major Indian ports and airports halting clearances for industrial shipments from China.

Of course, the ban on these apps will have a huge impact on Chinese companies that consider India to be their largest overseas market, and will in fact also affect many Indians who work directly or indirectly for these apps.
