Leading analyst of Mobile Research Group Eldar Murtazin explained how Rostelecom's service differs from SpeedTest: "There are no fundamental differences. Users need SpeedTest to prove to the operator that the speed at a particular point is not very good. At the same time, SpeedTest is also safe. I do not think that it poses any danger to operators. SpeedTest servers operate in a sandbox, they are isolated from the network. Rostelecom has the same story. They put servers on the network and measure the signal. This is not always correct from the point of view of different networks. But Rostelecom is a large broadband provider, a transport infrastructure operator. If it builds such servers throughout the country, it will paint a real picture, and this is not bad."

LLC (T2) added that S el salvador whatsapp number databa se peedTest is not a professional tool: "The service from Ookla is an application for users that does not allow you to evaluate the parameters necessary for network management. Its performance does not affect the operation of the network and the quality of services provided to customers. In general, we welcome the transition to domestic software and use the developments of the parent company in our work."

"Rostelecom's service is primarily good for Rostelecom itself. For the company, this is an internal application that is not adapted for iOS or Android, so it cannot be considered a full replacement for SpeedTest. For example, we have the Megabitus application, which ensures equidistance from all operators, transparency of measurements. Each person can look at the measurements of other users located nearby and see where the speed is better. Therefore, Rostelecom's service is good specifically for them. The company will be able to recoup the costs that went into purchasing Ookla data in a few years. But for the market as a whole, it is not particularly interesting. I do not see any point in users of other telecom operators using Rostelecom's service, because the question will always arise - does it work correctly if it belongs to one operator," Denis Kuskov added.

"MegaFon" uses a number of different services to measure the speed of the Internet connection. SpeedTest is the most popular in terms of the number of users, but not the only service available in the Russian Federation for measuring the speed of data transfer in cellular networks. We already use unique domestic and our developments for this, "said a representative of the press service of PJSC MegaFon.

Representatives of PJSC Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) refrained from commenting, and representatives of PJSC VimpelCom (brand Beeline) did not answer questions from a ComNews correspondent.
