(IS) startup development program have introduced an open analytical resource for searching and evaluating growing companies developing IS solutions - CyberStage Matrix. The resource is a systematized source of data on small and medium-sized companies developing IS solutions. Its special feature is the classification of products by 44 types of technologies and seven niches.
CyberStage Matrix is an azerbaijan whatsapp resourceopen resource and is characterized by the fact that any user can make suggestions for its addition and adjustment. The user of the resource immediately receives all the necessary information about the companies: a list of projects at the development stage, their area of activity, revenue for three years, staff size, location, number of investors. Data on market participants will be updated quarterly, and on revenue and number of employees - once a year.
"Our task is to create new incentives for market growth. The launch of CyberStage Matrix will help to form an idea of companies, niches and technologies among a wide range of people. This will make the information security sphere in Russia more transparent and understandable, which will help startups, investors, strategists to find each other more easily, develop products, filling the market and reducing the deficit of domestic technologies," explained Vladislav Rasskazov, director of the CyberStage program.
Vladimir Bengin, Director of Product Development at Solar Group, briefly described the product structure: Solar has a large product portfolio. The first task we faced was to understand what market volume we were covering and what areas we were not touching. We realized that the closest product for everyone would be within the scope of its application. That is why we created a technology navigator. A huge number of startups or organizations can be distributed according to the technology navigator and it can be understood where they are mainly located, where they are not, and where there are empty niches."
According to CyberStage Matrix, as of the end of Q3 2024, there are 187 small and medium-sized companies on the market. The resource allows identifying technology segments and leading companies in them. The surge in the registration of new companies in the IB occurred in 2022. Among the cities, the leaders in terms of registered companies remain Moscow (124 companies) and St. Petersburg (17). However, IB vendors are also appearing in other regions of the country. For example, there are five IB businesses in Yekaterinburg, three companies each in Yaroslavl and Rostov-on-Don.
The number of full-time employees of these companies is almost 5,000 people. The average number of employees of a company with non-zero revenue is 32 people. A startup often reaches revenue of 50-100 million rubles with a team of 5-10 people, and from 50 million rubles in revenue, the founders have the opportunity to expand the staff to 10-25 people.
"The information security market is very complex. It is not easy for investors to understand it. It is also very large, but at the same time interesting for investments. But the number of investments in information security is very low. Over the past six years, there have been only 10 transactions. In the coming years, their number should increase several times. According to our forecasts, there will be about 30 transactions per year, and investments of about 150 billion rubles. We also recently launched a venture fund, which is the only venture fund in the field of information security. In the coming years, we plan to invest more than 1 billion rubles in venture deals," said Igor Kheresh, Director of Asset Management and M&A at Solar Group.
