You've probably heard the term Design Thinking before. But do you know what it really means? The reality is that this word is far from being just a trendy concept.

Design Thinking is a way of dealing with complex problems, that is, challenges that require different solutions, answers that are not evident and not obvious. Obstacles like these are common in our daily lives, especially in a world that is constantly changing like ours.

LIT professor of the Competitor Monitoring course , Edson israel whatsapp data Barbero explains that the first step is always empathy. It is necessary to put yourself in the shoes of the people who live with that problem, deeply understanding their pain. "We have to do an exercise of humanized reflection in design thinking, becoming a more collaborative person. This is easy to say, but the real attitude is what counts most and is very challenging", he highlighted.
Think outside the box
After that, it is necessary to focus on the problems and possible solutions. To do this, it is necessary to think outside the box and look for interdisciplinary ideas. Barbero cites the example of Cirque du Soleil, which, when facing a crisis due to a lack of interest in the circus, decided to look not only at what other companies in the same industry were doing but also at the world of theater, Olympic gymnastics and innovative technologies for inspiration. Thus, a new and totally unique product was created.

Coming up with these ideas is not an easy process. There is no exact recipe. The answers to complex problems are not where we usually look for solutions to our challenges, and therefore, trial and error are essential to guide us on this often dark path.
