In December 2023, ANO Digital Economy announced 20 IT trends for 2024 in a white paper in four thematic blocks: technology, economy, state, society. Of these, 14 have already come true as of June 2024. Maria Saykina, Director of Analytics at ANO Digital Economy, spoke about this at the E+ Analytics conference.
ive trends. For example, in the "Technology" block, the trends for expert artificial intelligence (AI), growth in AI content, and virtual personnel came true. The detection and filtering of generated content and privacy enhancement technologies remain unfulfilled.
Marketing Director of the thailand whatsapp resourceRussian business application developer SL Soft (Softline Group) Olesya Lachugina disagreed that the spread of expert AI can be considered a fait accompli: "In terms of generative AI, society tends to exaggerate the degree of maturity of technologies. In our opinion, expert AI in many areas is still at the stage of pioneering work, although in certain professional areas, AI technologies are indeed being actively and productively used. But in general, for expert use of AI, a significant path of training and improvement of algorithms is still necessary. At the same time, virtual and augmented personnel are already a reality in many Russian companies. The greatest application here is found in bots - voice and chat - as well as intelligent digital assistants."
Digital transformation expert Oleg Logvinov doubted the growth of AI content: "How can we assess the growth of AI content? By the number of startups specializing in this? We can assess it by the capitalization of companies in the country. Globally, this is already tens of billions of dollars. We have practically nothing like this. Either these are government subsidies, or giants like Sberbank are developing AI tools for specific needs. Therefore, we are lagging far behind in content growth."
The "State" block has the same situation as "Technology" - three trends that have come true versus two that have not. Among the first are the confrontation around AI, the transition from the digital economy to the data economy, and online retail in the regulators' area of attention. The regulation of AI and satellite Internet remain in question.

"Data Economy" will continue the work of "Digital Economy"
The Data Economy program, designed for the period 2024-2030, does not cancel the national program "Digital Economy", but is its direct continuation. During its implementation, the main emphasis will be placed on creating infrastructure and eliminating existing barriers, primarily regulatory ones.
Ilya Naroditsky, Director of Consulting at Navicon, believes that the trend towards satellite Internet is also developing: "In the Russian Federation, there are already satellite Internet providers - AltegroSky and Eutelsat Networks, as well as the federal target program for the development of space technologies "Sfera", which includes the expansion of satellite communications capabilities. Therefore, it cannot be said that this trend is not being realized. It is just that the volume of necessary investments and time determines the speed, which is lower than that of some other trends."
In the "Economy" block, there is only one unfulfilled trend left - subscription management. The trends that have come true are: strategic partnerships, marketplaces as media, "new media" as advertising platforms, information security (IS) as a competitive advantage.
