Shopping, watching videos, listening to music, reading books... You can do a lot of things with apps.
I also like to shop with my favorite fashion brand's app, watch the news, and read books with apps.
According to a survey in the United States, people are spending more time using apps than watching TV.

Daily usage time revealed! 198 minutes on apps, 168 minutes on TV...
In 2015, American research company Flurry skype database looked into how much time Americans spend watching TV and using apps per day.
The results showed that the average time Americans spent using apps was 198 minutes, exceeding the average time spent watching TV, which was 168 minutes.

Although the amount of time spent using apps has been increasing year by year, the amount of time spent watching television has not decreased, so it is thought that many people are using apps while watching television.

What do you use the app for? Games? LINE?
The 198 minutes of app usage does not include the time spent browsing the device's web browser.
By the way, the time spent browsing the web browser was only 22 minutes.
So, what are people using apps for? It seems that the most common is SNS such as LINE and Facebook.

Next are entertainment-related apps such as video and music. Then there are games.
What is particularly notable is that entertainment-related apps have increased by 240% compared to the same period last year.
