It is necessary to perform sales analysis in relation to these indicators for a specific time period. The collected information will enable:

review the workload of staff, increase the number of employees during hours when the flow of visitors is highest;

at times when the flow is minimal, unemployed fronk oil email list workers can be assigned to perform other important functions.

Having information about attendance, you can significantly save your budget on utility bills, for example, on salaries.

If you know that the largest flow of customers comes after six in the evening, then there is no point in opening the store at seven in the morning. In the morning, the sellers will just sit around doing nothing, and in the evening - they will run around. All this should be thought out and properly organized.

Sales analysis based on the number of visitors is performed using special modern counters.

The data on how many people made a purchase is in the cash register. The importance of the retail facility and its assortment for visitors becomes clear after comparing the number of those who came in and those who bought something.

There are a number of external factors that should be taken into account when performing sales analysis and planning further work. These are:

Geographical factor. This means that the flow of customers is, of course, greater in stores located within the city limits, and not outside of it. Or, for example, in a residential area there will be fewer sales than in the center.

Seasonal factor. Products that are in greater demand during a certain season sell worse during the rest of the year. This must be taken into account.

Market factor. When analyzing sales, consider what the competition is like for you in the market, what competitors are holding promotions, discounts, sales.

Infrastructure in the vicinity of the outlet. Attendance will be significantly higher if there are public transport stops or a metro station nearby.

It is important to take all this into account before the store opens, otherwise it will be very difficult to adjust anything later.

Mistakes in conducting sales analysis
To conduct this analysis, it is not always enough to collect statistics and compare planned indicators with achieved results. Serious system errors not related to errors in numbers are not uncommon here.

Studying the range only from the standpoint of logistics

That is, when decisions are made solely on the basis of statistical data. For example, you are conducting an ABC analysis of sales and are going to remove from the assortment all products included in group C.

However, we must not forget that this is where all the new products end up, rare items whose purpose is to retain customers (for example, spinach juice or fish food), products that bring in a small turnover, but go to other items as components (light bulbs to chandeliers, and fasteners to baseboards, etc.).

When forming the assortment, it is important not only to take into account logistics and leave only fast-selling goods, but also to ensure high-quality filling of the shelves.

A qualitative assessment of the assortment is of great importance. Each item should be studied: who is interested in it, what it goes with. And only after that, process the statistical indicators. If something is not selling well, you need to figure out why. Maybe the price is too high, or there is a similar product (and cheaper), or the display is poor. Perhaps the sellers are not diligent enough or there is no advertising at all. Sales analysis gives you numbers, and specialists should figure out the reasons for the failures.
