Researchers from the University of New South Wales have unveiled an innovative device that can generate electricity at night using infrared radiation from the Earth.
The device is made using thermal radiation generation. The key element of this technology is a special semiconductor that works like a solar panel. Instead of sunlight, the device uses the radiant heat of the Earth. The device is able to generate electric current due to the temperature difference between the Earth's surface and the space environment.
Energy Breakthrough: Scientists Find Way to Generate Electricity at Night Using Earth's Infrared Radiation
Although the efficiency of the new technology is relatively low at the moment, the test results have confirmed its potential. The device currently generates 100,000 times less energy than conventional chinese thailand data solar panels, but the researchers hope to significantly improve its efficiency in the future.
The technology can be used both to power household appliances that will operate without batteries, and for implementation on satellites and spacecraft.
The team of researchers is actively working on adapting the device for use in space conditions. Thanks to this technology, satellites in low orbit will be able to generate electricity even during an eclipse, reducing their dependence on batteries.
Energy savings. An uninterruptible power supply for traffic lights allows you to reduce energy consumption by generating electricity with a solar panel. The city receives a reduction in electricity costs from the local budget.
A UPS for traffic lights with a battery and a solar panel is a comprehensive solution that helps reduce the load on the power grid and improve road safety.
The company plans to expand the geography of the project, ensuring road safety for residents of most cities in Ukraine.
The crane is undergoing testing at Mammoet’s plant in Westdorp, the Netherlands, and is set for its first deployment later this year. Thanks to its innovative engineering, it will be a key tool for major projects in the near future.
