Hello, dear friend! Today, I suggest you test your listening comprehension with three dialogues between two native speakers. My wife Céline will be with me to discuss. Listen to these conversations and tell me if you understood everything.
Hello and thanks for joining me. So today, it's a bit of a special video. My wife Céline and I offer you three scenes of everyday life, three dialogues of everyday life. In the first, we're going to talk about our day at work; in the second, about vacations; and in the third, about the restaurant. There will be dialogues between two native speakers, and behind, we'll explain the vocabulary to remember.
The idea is really to test your understanding. There are two native speakers who are going to speak, we want to test your understanding. You can try to understand with the subtitles first and then without the subtitles, without looking at them etc. We want to help you learn vocabulary through context, and of course, we want to offer you real conversations, authentic vocabulary.
Before that, let me invite you to join the saudi arabia whatsapp number data Authentic French Academy , the link is in the description. Registrations are currently open, they close 90% of the year. And you can join us until the 12th, so don't miss this opportunity to have lots of content and have access to discussions with our tutors. First link in the description.
So, we imagined three everyday dialogues between Audrey and Jean-Luc. I will perform them with my wife Céline. And the former students of Français Authentique, those who have been following me for a long time will recognize them. Audrey and Jean-Luc are two characters that I had already used or invented in 2011 in podcasts and I had also imagined them for my course, pack 2, "Authentic Discussions" , already recorded with my wife Céline at the time. So the former students of Français Authentique will recognize Audrey and Jean-Luc.
So here is the first dialogue: “How was your day?”
Context: Audrey is a primary school teacher and Jean-Luc works for an advertising agency. They have both just returned from work.
Jean-Luc: Good evening, darling.
Audrey: Good evening, darling.
Jean-Luc: How was your day at school?
Audrey: The students were as good as gold. Apart from one or two children, they all behaved very well.
Jean-Luc: Let me guess, you're talking about Diego and Sebastian.
Audrey: Yes.
Jean-Luc: What did those two do now?
Audrey: Right at the beginning of the day, they started arguing about Pokémon cards. They weren't listening to the class at all. I had to separate them and put them at two different desks. Other than that, there weren't any other major incidents. And you, how was your day at the office?
Jean-Luc: Oh me, nothing interesting… The routine. Oh yes, the customer of the household appliance store loved our Christmas advertising campaign. He said it was a hit on social networks. Normally, he will sign the partnership contract and I will be in charge of the projects with this customer.
There you go. So, did you understand everything? Could you summarize what was said between Audrey and Jean-Luc? Ask yourself this question right now.
As for vocabulary, we can start by explaining the word "darling". Darling is a tender word that is often used between spouses and is used with a person we are in love with. We can call each other "darling", it can be masculine or feminine. And we use it to address a person we are in love with. Synonyms would be my love or my heart.
