Postgraduate courses in food safety“ Food Safety is in good health,” said the renowned expert in the field, Adrián Martínez, who is currently the Director of the Agri-Food area of the Bureau Veritas Group in Spain . He made this statement at a recent Digital Meeting with readers of the newspaper El Economista.
Adrián Martínez is well versed in the subject, not in vain is he responsible for the Certifications in the different standards in Food Safety and Quality that Bureau Veritas signs for some of the most important Spanish companies in Food, whether they are producers, distributors or suppliers.
There are currently at least 30,000 small and medium-sized forex data companies in our country that have to incorporate Food Quality and Safety standards into their structure and management in order to be in line with the guidelines of the European Union and the demands of large companies that have already adopted these standards and, little by little, are imposing them in order to work with them.
The direct consequence is that good job prospects are expected for professionals in the sector. More and more people in charge of the Safety area will be needed in the Food sector , but always with experience in the implementation of one of the most important Certification systems (IFS, BRC, ISO 22000, GLOBALGAP, etc.). And, as a minimum, with specialized and quality training .
There are currently numerous postgraduate courses on the subject. At Bureau Veritas Centro Universitario, for example, the Official University Master's Degree in Food Safety Management is taught . Of course, it is a sine qua non condition to have a specialization, either a Master's or Expert, and not only in the Standards but also in Food Safety management in general .
Experience, training, quality, safety… Basic concepts that no company should forget, especially in difficult times when it is more necessary than ever to have good professionals who ensure the well-being of citizens .
