New work
Pepper has been part of the hospitality team for almost a year now. A year in which we have learned a lot. Based on that, we have continued to program and have added new activities to Pepper. In addition to the meet & greets, we have also introduced our relations to Pepper by letting Pepper go ' on tour ', so to speak. Seeing is believing! That is why we have offered our relations to really experience Pepper at their own organization. Many of our relations have made use of this and the reactions to this were very valuable. It has really made clear the added value that a robot host can offer to those organizations.
Our conclusion so far
We think that a robot and hospitality go very well together. Pepper can be used well within a team to take over administrative matters. It really gives the employees the opportunity to give their full attention to the guest and to ensure an optimal reception experience. This also makes their job more diverse and thus gives it more content.
In addition, it ensures more job satisfaction, because a hospitality professional chooses to give personal attention to guests and contribute to an excellent corporate image when it comes to hospitality. Pepper can also function perfectly as a stand-alone robot host for smaller organizations or organizations that do not have a reception, but do find customer experience important. In this way, guests are still welcomed well and personally and Pepper can, for example, refer a guest to a meeting room.
An important conclusion we can draw is that people still have to get used to a robot. Despite the fact that we already come into contact with digitalization and robotization, example of whatsapp number in philippines we still see that people have to get used to it and switch when they are welcomed by a robot. However, the service provided by Pepper is generally experienced as very positive. Certainly in combination with the space, time and attention that the hostess can give to the guest thanks to Pepper.

The Future
Last October 23, Pepper welcomed its 1000th guest. A great milestone. We also have a great list of wishes with which we want to expand Pepper's range of tasks. In 2018, Pepper will actually start working as a robot host for a number of our relations and I expect that we will see many more Peppers in many different service roles in the future. It is a great and valuable innovation.
1. Start deliberately
It really is a process that requires careful consideration and finding the right partners. In addition, you really have to do it together and everyone has to understand what the dot on the horizon is and how to get there. We started as a team, but gradually came to the conclusion that not everyone was in the right place. Then you have to anticipate and replace people. We had another colleague join who had a bit more feeling for the technology and marketing of a robot. Dare to make choices. Only in this way will you achieve your goal.
