Inability to limit the target group to residents of a specific area

However, promoting posts has several limitations that disqualify them for complex target groups, such as:

no option to select the language in which the target group has Facebook set (this is important!),
no restrictions or exclusions,
If you want precise reach, configure your target groups for Facebook ads using a dedicated tool – the ads manager.

2. Choose the right interests
Selecting interests is the biggest challenge when targeting Facebook ads.

Very often I meet people who only use the basic capabilities of this system.

They sell cosmetics, so they choose “Cosmetics”. They sell clothes, so they choose “Women's Clothing”.

In theory, there's nothing wrong with that. In practice, however, it's useful to be aware of how Facebook assigns people to particular interests. I don't want to say that it's random (because it isn't), but the connection can be loose. Which in turn boils down to the conclusion that in general interests you'll find general audiences.
