Negative aspects of the OMR Festival - if you look you will find!

But there's always something and if you look long enough, you'll find something to work on. So let's get started and work on the less than ideal aspects of the festival. First of all, there's the logistics. Long queues in front of the food stalls and the toilets are not unavoidable at an event of this size.

At the same time, this could have been prevented, at least to some extent, by creating more opportunities for eating and excreting digested food. It almost seemed as if the crowds themselves were a little surprised, even though that was exactly what they had planned.

Lots of programs, little time, long queues
With such a full program schedule as the OMR offered, visitors have to make a lot of compromises anyway. It's particularly annoying when they miss the speaker because the toilets don't seem to be moving at times. Standing in israel mobile numbers list line for three quarters of an hour for food or to urinate can really trigger the inner FOMO at such a fast-paced event.

But as I said, it's not always easy as an organizer and we're only criticizing the form here. In many places, the criticism is also of a content-related nature. Again and again, you read about a lack of depth in the lectures at the OMR Festival 2022. We can't jump on this bandwagon unconditionally.

Lack of depth in the lectures?
30-minute slots simply do not allow you to explain the nuances of quantum physics to a broad audience. In addition, we cannot fully share the criticism, as the lectures we were able to attend were certainly characterized by relevant and exciting content. The premium ticket also gave access to the 250 different master classes, two of which were guaranteed, at least in theory.

Unfortunately, even with the conference ticket and guarantee of 2 master classes, I was only assigned to one master class [...]. However, the feedback from my colleagues from the other master classes was that they were very good and in-depth in terms of content.

In addition, the confirmation process for the individual master classes was a little chaotic. You didn't receive a confirmation email or anything like that and sometimes you didn't know until shortly beforehand whether you could attend the master class or not. By then, however, you had already planned one or two customer appointments and then had to forego the courses altogether.

Price difference not really justified
We do have one criticism of the mega event, however - the pricing. The VIP ticket was sold for a whopping EUR 499. The "normal" festival ticket cost just a tenth of the price at EUR 49. However, the advantages of the VIP ticket were not worth anywhere near ten times as much.

Although priority access was secured here and there for particularly popular program items, it was of little use if the room was full or if you had to wait in the previously mentioned queues in the bathroom area.

In recent years, the discounted ticket granted access to the fair. This year, the crowds ended up flooding almost all areas of the festival.

To put it bluntly, it felt like everyone with an Instagram account was entitled to a 49,- € Expo ticket, a cheap “festival ticket” including concerts, hip TikTokers and cool influencers, Ehrenpflaume, Paul Ripke, etc.

In our opinion, the OMR needs to create more differentiation here. The price difference is simply too significant for the little extra that is offered.
