How to Differentiate a Desktop and Mobile SEO Strategy

If I start this post with a question like “Do we really need to differentiate our SEO strategy?” will anyone get angry? When in doubt, let’s try to understand what the status quo is and how best to behave in order to optimize results .

The first thing to know is that the October data according to StatCounter give some of the key features of band mobile a clear advantage in terms of audience size:

Not just more traffic: according to Criteo data , already in 2016 the data for revenue amount and average purchase amount of mobile devices surpassed those of desktop.

The state of the business is therefore already strongly unbalanced towards mobile, but as I have already said in other places the rule in a similar situation must be mobile first and not mobile only. This means that it is correct to unbalance the "strategy" towards mobile, but we must always remember that that 40-45% of desktop users is still worth a lot and we cannot disappoint their expectations.

From a purely technical point of view, the conditions have not changed. According to Google's guidelines - which I have described in detail in the post Mobile Optimization - there are still three structural modes:
