How to verify accessibility?

Post by suchona.kani.z »

And I tried virtual reality – let's admit, it was probably the most interesting experience for a technology enthusiast

We were most interested in 2 lectures on web accessibility . Accessibility is a big topic and there is even a methodological guideline for accessibility for users with disabilities. The lectures were an inspiration for us on how to work better from a technical point of view.

In the future, we want to think more about accessibility during development. Our professions as coders and programmers complement each other perfectly in this regard.

We realized that an accessible website is not just one designed for the business owner database blind, but one that is enjoyable for everyone . Let's face it, the website is used by many more colorblind or severely myopic users than blind users. And it is possible to accommodate everyone.

We were impressed that relatively little is needed – for example, setting a sufficiently large font or setting keyboard shortcuts. The part about how to technically solve the function of the buttons was especially interesting. As an example of an accessible application for the blind, you can try the My Train application of Czech Railways. Practical tip: you can check the accessibility of your website.

You can find a recording of Radek Pavlíček's lecture here , and practical demonstrations were presented by Martin Michálek and can be found here .
