University where the scientist

Post by rifat28dddd »

Despite his significant contributions to defeating the Nazis and science, Alan Turing ran into trouble with the authorities in 1952. He was charged with indecent behavior, prosecuted, and suspended from research.

Instead of a prison term, the scientist chose a course of compulsory treatment, which undermined his physical and mental health. According to the official version, he committed suicide in 1954, although friends and relatives considered his death an accident.

In 2009, the British government apologised for the prosecution of Alan Turing. Four years later, Queen Elizabeth II pardoned the eminent scientist.
