Britney Spears' new collaboration with John has been released and it's set to create another wave of buzz. Candle in the Wind Years and Years Elton John performed a rewritten version of Candle in the Wind in tribute to Diana, Princess of Wales, at her funeral. Photo Supplied For a number of reasons Candle in the Wind is probably best known now for the versionDiana after her tragic death. Originally intended as a tribute to Marilyn Monroe, the song's central image makes it a useful piece of art when it comes to the many tragedies involving a loved one gone too soon.

Candle in the Wind first appeared on John Years' album Goodbye turkey phone number library Yellow Brick, originally released as a side and subsequently becoming a hit in its own right. The song became popular again in 2001. John's recorded live version earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. But what really made the song a classic of the most popular songs of all time was the version that paid homage to Princess Diana. This version has sold 10,000 copies and is widely considered to be the second best-selling single after . I guess that's why they call it the blues.

This was the first single from John Years' album and unlike the previous songs on the list it was an immediate and huge success. The song’s secret weapon is Stevie Wonder, who wails on a harmonica solo. I guess the message here is maybe a little cheesy but there's some real wisdom in the song and it starts with the first lyric don't wish it away.
