Christmas Lottery Announcement 2018 – “22, again”

Post by jrine »

As every year at this time, I bring you the Christmas Lottery announcement . This time, titled “22, again” .

The work was commissioned by the agency “Contrapunto BBDO” and directed by Javier Ruiz. It tells the story of a locksmith (Luis Bermejo) who always wins the Christmas lottery. He goes to bed and when he wakes up, it is December 22nd again and yes, he wins it… Again and again, until he gets “fed up” and realises that, as the Christmas Lottery slogan says: “the greatest prize is sharing it” .

The spot is full of messages. In its long version (about 5 minutes), you can see products on the table such as the famous “Spanish omelette” and the oranges that fall in the market, which by the way, is the Vallehermoso Market in Chamberí.

The good protagonist, as he wins the jackpot repeatedly, changes his menu. He goes from canned mussels to good ham, select red wine, seafood... even sushi. And the more money you have, the more treats you can give yourself...

As every year, the Christmas Lottery iraq telegram data advert will be criticised by people who are passionate about it, and by others who are dedicated to making “memes” or humorous versions, but what is clear is that we have had three years in a row of good storytelling and production. From the 2016 version with the elderly Carmina ( see 2016 Christmas Lottery Advert ), to last year's futuristic proposal by Alejandro Amenábar , ( see 2017 Christmas Lottery Advert ).

It could be said that there are two dates that “mark” the start of Christmas, one is the lighting of Christmas lights in the cities, and the other is the famous Christmas Lottery advert. The tradition of the latter dates back to 1998 , with the man nicknamed “Bald Lottery Man” (Clive Arrindell) . From that year until 2005, and without interruption, he was the star of the advert; in 2006, and with one more year left on his contract, Loterías y Apuestas del Estado terminated his services. They claimed that the character had become even more prominent than the Lottery, and the message, therefore, was losing strength.
