Day 2 of InnovationTechWeek and I couldn't be more excited! Day 1 was a rollercoaster of emotions, learning, and connections. From morning to night, every moment was filled with inspiration and reflection. If you missed it, don't worry, I'll tell you all about it here in detail.
Impact Investing in LATAM 2024: A Panel That Makes You Think Outside the Box
The day began with a panel on Impact Investing at LATAM 2024. It was a very human space that invited us to think outside the box and question our preconceived ideas about philanthropy and investment. Here are three key points that were discussed:
The importance of impact investing for sustainable development.
How businesses can help eradicate poverty.
The difference between pure and traditional philanthropy.
The panel featured Matías Kelly, Ruben Altman, Jorge Mariano Aguado, Gastón Chapartegui and Julian M Drault. Each contributed their unique perspective, enriching the conversation and leaving us with much to reflect on. Special mention to The Future Co. for hosting us in their offices and sharing their mission to bring poverty to 0. It was truly inspiring to see how a guatemala telephone number data company can have such a significant impact on society.
Impact Investment: First Panel
Impact investing is a topic that is gaining increasing relevance in the business world. It is not just about generating profits, but doing so in a way that benefits society and the environment. In Latin America, this type of investment is crucial to addressing problems such as poverty, inequality and climate change.
During the panel, Matías Kelly made a very interesting reflection on the difference between pure and traditional philanthropy. Pure philanthropy focuses on donating money without expecting anything in return, while traditional philanthropy seeks a social or environmental return. This distinction is important because it helps us better understand how we can use our resources to generate a positive impact.
