COMPANIES DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT WEB 2.0

Post by asimd23 »

Managers are increasingly unaware of the Web 2.0. More than 20% of company managers do not know what the term Web 2.0 means. This is the result of a study conducted by Cologne Business School and the consulting firm Brain Injection.

Communities, social networks and blogs amazon data are the phenomena most often associated with Web 2.0. The Xing professional community is the most used by the managers surveyed. 40% of respondents do not have a social network profile.

51% of the companies surveyed have no plans to implement any social media strategy. However, 15% of them have managed to improve their turnover by using social media solutions .

The study was conducted through a survey of executives, presidents, directors and owners of 350 companies in Germany.

"If you're not in the top five for very generic terms, you're not getting the exposure that comes with being on the first page, and that means you're losing 70 to 80 percent of your audience," says Collin Cornwell, vice president of consulting firm iCrossing.

However, the difficulty of aiming at both targets is further increased by the strength of Wikipedia, which tends to rank at the top, leaving only 4 spaces free for companies.
