Finance for startups is the subject of a book by a LIT professor

Post by monira444 »

The innovation ecosystem — like the entire world — was surprised by the events of 2020. But, in fact, the world of startups has been undergoing revolutions for years, in a somewhat dynamic carousel.

Startups around the world have received investments worth billions of dollars. In Brazil, too: according to consulting firm Distrito , startups received US$2.7 billion in investments in 2019 to boost their businesses, representing 58% of the total volume of resources allocated to Latin American countries, the focus of investments.

Thinking about looking at the current situation as a "glass half full", when it comes to adversity for the formation of business models for entrepreneurs, startup professionals, investors and innovation enthusiasts, the vice-rector of Saint Paul Business School, Prof. Dr. Bruna Losada , launched the book Finance for Startups: the essentials for undertaking, leading and investing in startups .

A professor at LIT in the courses Economic Feasibility hungary whatsapp data Analysis of Investment Projects and Quantitative Methods Applied to Business , the author immersed herself in the North American, European and Brazilian innovation ecosystems through a post-doctorate in finance for startups at Columbia University in the City of New York.

The journey of a startup's life
In the book, she presents an overview of the topic, giving tips on financial management and funding on how to sustain the next steps of a venture and also how to measure the value of the startup, which is often as important as making a profit.

“My dream for this book is that it will be a step – albeit a timid one – in spreading knowledge to our entrepreneurs and professionals, supporting our nation in building its businesses, generating GDP and employment and, who knows, helping a little in building a more prosperous country. This dream emanates from the pages that follow,” he comments.

In a light and extremely practical way, the professor explains the journey of a startup's life — from incubation or MVP (minimum viable product) to the much-dreamed-of exponential growth.

The book was published by Saint Paul Editora, and has a 20% discount with the coupon FPSBL_20 by clicking here .
