The role of technology combined with learning in the information society

Post by monira444 »

On other occasions, here on the blog, we have discussed the impacts of the industrial revolution on societies and how the movement of industrialization and global opening of markets promoted the growth and democratization of education.

The changes brought about by more intense educational support have had an impact on people's attitudes towards society. More knowledge means more capacity to question, think and, most importantly, absorb information.

With the improvement of educational levels throughout the world and the reconfiguration of access to knowledge, social struggle and system-challenging movements began to emerge, such as the Black Panthers , the May 1968 revolution in Europe and the feminist movement.

These and many other movements emerged due to people's jordan whatsapp data engagement in issues that began to be debated more widely as people began to consider knowledge as one of their most valuable assets.

It is in the midst of this context of expansion of popular cognition that the concept of information society emerges , an expression used to refer to the social context in which we live, not now, but since the beginning of the 20th century.

Already at that time, telecommunications and the means of information production began to be consumed more frequently not only by the intellectual and economic elite, but by all other members of society, further expanding the range of knowledge and subjects of people.

The information society is not only used to explain political or historical facts (such as the movements mentioned above). It also helps us understand how technology, which is one of the main players in the dissemination of information, impacts the ways in which knowledge is absorbed and learned.

In short: the information society has arrived and will not disappear any time soon. It is up to the market and educational institutions to analyze ways to “win” in this context. This is where technology comes in and its role as a facilitator in capturing new knowledge and building new ways of learning.

In today's text, we will cover the following topics:

The importance of technology in the learning process;
How computers and personal technological devices have fostered individual learning;
How neurolinguistics fits into the new learning context;
How the concept of lifelong education is applied;
The national scenario regarding all these issues.
Technology and individual learning
The development of new technological devices has always had as its main mission to transform something complex into a simpler and faster action. Computers are the greatest examples of this logic.

Back in the 1960s, when a computer with the power of a pen drive took up the space of an entire room, people were already discussing how computers could impact learning. The American philosopher and mathematician Patrick Suppes was one of the pioneers in this discussion.
