If you regularly upload different file types, consider displaying an icon next to the link. This way, your users can easily find the file type they are looking for.


The easiest way to add icons for file types is to use a WordPress plugin like MimeTypes Link Icons. It is a free plugin that is very easy to use and allows you to add icons for different file types.

The first thing you need to do is install and activate the MimeTypes Link Icons plugin. For more details, see our step-by-step guide on how to install a WordPress plugin .

After activation, you need to visit the Settings » MimeType Symbols page to configure the plugin settings.
