The silence delights in the cries of seagulls

Post by asimd23 »

To be heard in our time, you have to be very loud. And very present. And very regularly. I am currently visiting an exhibition in New York about Maximilian I, who lived from 1459 to 1519 and went down in history as "the last knight-emperor".

The exhibition in the Metropolitan Museum of Art shows insane armor, swords and weapons, which the shrill Maximilian mainly wore in public tournaments; these took place weekly in the various corners of his empire spread across Europe and always had only one winner: Maximilian.

"This is how I will be remembered long after my death," he lebanon rcs data prophesied. How true, after all, even the new world now remembers the knight-emperor - on the 500th anniversary of his death ("The Last Knight", on view until January 5, 2020 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York).

How do we prepare ourselves for the daily battle for communicative survival? When our mobile device becomes completely silent and no more SMS, Instagram, Whatsapp or Threema messages arrive; when the phone remains silent for months (it seems to be very frowned upon to still make calls on a cell phone anyway); when the email account only contains offers for wine, weapons and Viagra? Doesn't that make each of us feel a great depression? Aren't we all, like Maximilian or 14-year-old girls, addicted to exchanging ideas with communicative partners, with the world around us? Don't we all want to be remembered and questioned and recognized?
