Do these thoughts sound familiar? To a certain extent, self-doubt or fear of failure is normal. But considering themselves an "imposter" is more serious, and for some people, it becomes a constant fear.

As reflected in an article in UNAM Global magazine, published by the National Autonomous University of Mexico, up to 70% of people experience imposter syndrome at some point in their lives. And according to the Anatomy of Work Index report , conducted by Asana, 62% of knowledge workers worldwide have experienced imposter feelings in the professional field.

The term "imposter syndrome" was first defined in 1978 by psychologists Pauline Clance and Suzanne Imes. It is a state in which people deeply doubt their abilities and achievements. Those who suffer from it self employed database have low personal and/or professional expectations, feeling like a "fraud" and that they will be exposed at any moment.

These imposter feelings can affect anyone, even successful people, and influence not only their work but also different areas of their lives and personal relationships. However, the extent and symptoms of the syndrome can vary depending on age, gender, ethnicity, and cultural background. In fact, studies show that imposter syndrome is more frequently detected in professional women and indicate that three out of four women experience it during their professional careers.

External factors, such as negative work experiences or an unstable financial situation, can intensify the insecurity and anxiety associated with imposter syndrome.
