Find the Contacts Section: (Refer to Step 4 in Part 1).
Toggle "Sync Contacts" OFF:
Find the option labeled "Sync Contacts" and tap the toggle switch to turn it OFF. It will typically turn gray or left-aligned.
Part 3: How to Delete Already Synced Contacts from Telegram's Cloud
Disabling "Sync Contacts" only prevents future uploads. To telegram number database remove contacts that were previously synced and stored on Telegram's servers, you need to take an additional, separate step:
Go to Settings: (Refer to Step 2 in Part 1).
Navigate to Privacy and Security: (Refer to Step 3 in Part 1).
Find the Contacts Section: (Refer to Step 4 in Part 1).
Tap "Delete Synced Contacts":
Below the "Sync Contacts" toggle, you'll find an option labeled "Delete Synced Contacts". Tap on it.
A confirmation prompt will appear, often stating that this will remove all previously synced contacts from Telegram's servers.
Tap "Delete" or "Delete Synced" to confirm.
Note: For this action to be effective long-term, ensure you have also disabled "Sync Contacts" (from Part 2) before or immediately after deleting them. Otherwise, if sync remains on, your contacts may re-sync automatically.
What Happens After Managing Contact Sync:
When Sync is DISABLED:
Telegram will not automatically upload new contacts from your device's address book.
If you also "Delete Synced Contacts," any previously uploaded contacts will be removed from Telegram's servers.
You will still see existing Telegram contacts that you've chatted with or manually added.
