Choose the method that best suits your comfort level with sharing information and how you know the new contact.Telegram group IDs are not directly visible within the standard Telegram app interface for users. They are primarily used for bot development, API interactions, and other behind-the-scenes integrations.
However, you can easily obtain a Telegram telegram number database group ID using a bot. This is the most common and reliable method.
Method: Using a Telegram Bot (Recommended)
Several bots can help you find chat IDs. A popular and reliable one is @getidsbot or @JsonDumpBot.
Here's how to use it:
Open Telegram and search for @getidsbot (or @JsonDumpBot).
Start a chat with the bot by tapping the "Start" button.
Add the bot to your Group:
Open the specific Telegram group for which you want to find the ID.
Tap on the group's name at the very top of the chat screen (this opens the group info).
Tap "Add Member" (or the add icon, which typically looks like a person with a plus sign).
In the search bar, type @getidsbot (or the bot you chose) and select it to add it to the group.
Important: For the bot to report the ID, it needs to be able to "see" messages.
Get the Group ID:
Once the bot is added to the group, it will usually send a message almost immediately displaying the group's ID.
If it doesn't, simply send a short message in the group yourself (e.g., "hi" or /id) after the bot has joined. The bot should then reply with the group's ID.
