When is it worth using a value ladder?
Let's say you have one specific product or service. If you focus your marketing efforts almost exclusively on communicating about this part of your offer, you may not achieve the expected results or increase the customer value over time.

Why?
There may be several reasons:

1) Your service is relatively expensive for the consumer - therefore, from his perspective, it involves a lot of risk and he is not ready to make such an investment in your relationship if he is not yet fully convinced that you are the right choice for him.

2) The service you offer is very complicated or will engage the customer in the long term – in my case, it could be marketing services. It requires a lot of trust. It will definitely take a few months to hand over your own brand, built over the years, to someone.

So if using your offer or product requires a large investment of time, money or nerves, not everyone will have enough of a risk-taker to do it.
