Meta's new app comes at a time when Musk has angered Twitter users by restricting many of the app's features to a subscription model and limiting the number of tweets people can read in a day.


Zuckerberg strikes as Twitter goes through its biggest turbulence since its founding and takes its big opportunity in context. While the number of active users of Meta's applications (WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram) is around 2,000 to 3,000 million globally, Twitter has 556 million users worldwide, according to the Digital 2023 report by We are social.


According to the Spanish creative agency, 92% of Argentines use WhatsApp, 90% Facebook, and 76% Instagram; while 52% use Twitter. What percentage of them will be able to capitalize on Threads?

Some technology experts have already referred to Threads as the end of Twitter, although the only thing certain is that in Argentina there are almost 34 million Meta users who will be able to directly access this new app and create their user account with their Instagram profile data in just a few taps.
