The new Cash Register Security Ordinance includes the following obligations:
Receipt requirement: Sellers must issue a receipt to each customer. The receipt can be issued in paper form or electronically.
TSE requirement: The cash register software must have a certified technical security device (TSE). The TSE stores all entries in the system in an unchangeable and encrypted manner either locally or in the cloud and enables data transmission to the tax office, thereby preventing manipulation.
Cash register reporting obligation: All cash register systems equipped with TSE must be reported to the tax office.
