Tips and #YouTuberHacks for a New YouTuber
What camera should I use?
Many YouTubers have asked me what camera they should use for their blog, and I always give the same answer: "The camera you have is the best camera." This is true across the board; it doesn't matter if you only have a smartphone or a multi-million-dollar camera; your content will speak for itself. Either way, if you have a little money, I would recommend a DSLR over a fully digital mirrorless camera. Why? I prefer making videos with this type of camera because it offers more options for customizing your photos and videos. However, take this with a pinch of salt, as depending on the type of video you want to shoot and your personal needs, a mirrorless digital camera may be a better option.
Do I need audio and lighting equipment?
At the end of the day, your content will define your channel, but there are some factors that will improve it. While buying a new camera can be very expensive, improving the audio quality with a microphone, or the lighting where you shoot the video, can make the difference between someone sharing your video or just watching it. In online stores, you can find microphones that connect to your camera or smartphone for as little as $5. As for lighting, there's a completely free #YouTubeHack. To improve the lighting of your video, simply record with natural light, or use lamps in your house that you can move around with you. Natural light will always be your best ally for your recordings.
