SMS (Text Message): The most common method. The code is sent to the phone number associated with your Telegram account.
In-App (to an Active Session): If you are already logged in to Telegram on another device (e.g., your tablet, computer, or another phone with the Telegram app), Telegram will prioritize sending the code directly to that active Telegram session as an in-app message from the "Telegram" contact (ID 777000). This is a highly secure method.
Phone Call: After a short wait if the SMS doesn't arrive, Telegram might offer a "Call me" option. An automated voice will call your phone and read out the verification code.
Fragment (+888) Number: If your account is registered with a +888 anonymous number from Fragment, the code will be delivered to your TON wallet or the Fragment platform, not via SMS or call.
Steps to get the login code:
Open the Telegram app (or go to web.telegram.org or open the Desktop app).
Wait for the code.
Check your SMS messages on the phone number you telegram number database entered.
Check your Telegram app on any other devices where you might already be logged in. The code will appear as a message from "Telegram."
If no SMS arrives after a short wait, look for a "Call me" option on the Telegram login screen. Tap it to receive the code via a phone call.
If you're using a Fragment (+888) number, check your TON wallet or the Fragment platform for the code.
Enter the code into the Telegram app or web client.
