The Central Bank of Brazil confirmed, this Thursday (15), the leak of personal data linked to 8,032 PIX keys under the custody of BTG Pactual . The incident occurred due to specific failures in the institution's systems.

This exposed information such as name, masked CPF (some numbers hidden), financial institution, branch, account number and type. However, the BC assured that sensitive data, such as passwords, financial balances or transaction information, were not compromised.

In a statement, BTG Pactual reported that it identified specific queries that allowed viewing of branch and checking account data linked to CPFs, obtained outside the bank's system. The institution reinforced that there was no invasion of its systems, and that information security remains a priority.


If fraud is suspected, users should contact the financial institution responsible for their account and, if necessary, file a police report.

Furthermore, the Central Bank provides service channels to clarify doubts and receive reports of possible irregularities.
